Lake County Green Party

 The organizing committee has set up this website to keep in touch with members and would be members of the Lake County Chapter of the Green Party of the United States. We have never had a chapter here in Lake County so we are starting from scratch. We almost had a chapter a few years ago but the paperwork  was never filed.  So we are going to try to find out what the paperwork is and how to file it. We have advisers from the Green Party to help us.  We also want to register more Green Party voters. There are currently 370 at last count.  Given the sad state of the two party system it is time for a third party that is not controlled by corporations or special interests. The Tea Baggers are organizing their hate campaign so we can not stand by and let them and others like them take over our country.
 

EARTH DAY APRIL 17TH 10 AM TO 4PM

This will be our first event. We will have a table there with literature and be trying to register voters and sell buttons.  We need help so come down and give us a hand. We hope to set up the computer and record on the webcab for later uploading to upstream. The location is The Cal Pine Headquarters in Middletown 15500 Central Park Rd. Wear sunscreen and a hat as the sun can get pretty brutal there and bring water and a lunch. Wear something green. Call Flipper 349-3635 to sign up

Flipper has invited Laura Wells, Green Candidate for Governor to call in and discuss her platform and campaign. So call in with your questions. 263-3435 from 5-6pm.

Get Acquainted Meeting 6/13   2-5pm  Sunday
 
The get acquainted/ organizing meeting is 6/13 at 2pm at the Clear Lake Riviera Community Assn. Clubhouse on  9689 Soda Bay Rd also know as State Hwy 281. Kelseyville. This building is across from the mini mall and next to the Grapevine Cafe. You can Google it. This will be a potluck so bring  food for 6 we will bring plates and utensils, napkins, etc. There is a kitchen in the building as well as a refrigerator, sink etc.  We will be running an ad in the Penny Slaver to get party members to attend. We may send out postcards as well depends on the Green Party budget.

Meetings every third Sunday from 1-3 pm except for may 20th 2012 when the meeting starts at noon and goes till 2 pm.
All of our council nominees turned in their nominating papers with enough signatures to qualify for the County Council.
Next big event it the General Assembly for the CA Green Party. Anna Ravenwood and Chloe Karl will be our delegates
the meeting is on the calendar the dates are 5/12 and 5/13 with a fundraiser DJ event on 5/11/12.  An email has gone out
soliciting funds to defray expenses.
Our April 15, 2012 meeting had 18 participants and the speaker was Fred Langston, martial arts expert and currently a candidate for BOS.
